Visualizing Evaporative Cooling with Infrared Sensors
Thermal cameras do not "see through walls" like X-rays. Instead, they measure subtle differences in surface temperature. As water evaporates from wet building materials, it absorbs thermal energy, producing a cooling effect. An infrared camera displays this temperature differential as a dark blue or purple area, pinpointing exactly where water has wicked inside wall cavities or beneath tile floors. Our technicians utilize thermal imaging across all water damage mitigation projects.
